Greetings from Red Cross Medical College of Rīga Stradiņš University.

International health care student Olympiad gathered 9 teams from Latvia, Finland,Poland and France. Great race and challenging tasks made the day which will be remembered for long time.

On the guest lecture day four specialists in their fields were speaking about topics related to communication. Ieva Salmane - Kuļikovska spoke about multicultural approach in health care and what are the things that have to be seen, when not told loud. Iveta Ķelle chose to discuss about words we use and which way they can become good tools to speak about difficult topics. Colleges from France informed listeners about study course in field of communication and how important is communication training for professionals working in hospital and students.

Conference gathered 20 speakers from Latvia and partner countries. Each speaker overcame fears and anxiety to speak up in front of a big audience and to inform everybody about his / her research. Although the task was hard, speakers' motivation was stronger and all participants perfectly managed it.

Internationality gives us opportunity to learn and to be taught by each other. Culture is a part of our communication and during the International week Red Cross Medical College team tried to show and provide experience for guests through different activities, such as welcome day with presentations from all participating parties, traditional breakfast morning, where each visitor brought traditional snack to share with others and national dance presentation from dance group "Ozolēni" and their teacher Anita Ozoliņa.

Only together we can achieve better health care for each and everybody in the world.
