At the end of May Red Cross Medical College of RSU started cooperation with a dentistry center from Tallinn STOMATOLOOGIA+ in a VET project. This June has seen the second trip of the RSURCMC dentist assistants and their lecturer. For this project, Estonian colleagues have created a video summary about RSU RCMC guests experience in Tallinn dentistry center STOMATOLOOGIA+.
Videos are available here:
BACKGROUND:
The main goal of this mobility was to introduce RCMC RSU students to intraoral dental 3D scanners and their advantages in working with dental patients. The students received an extensive lecture delivered by experts from Estonia and Lithuania about intraoral scanners, their use and maintenance and comparison of different brands of scanners. After the lecture, the students had a practice session, where they were ableto work with the scanner in a real dental room under the experts’ supervision, applying their new knowledge. The students also learnt a lot about Estonia’s healthcare system and its digitalization, and compared it to the healthcare system in Latvia.
In the upcoming academic year, new trips are planned within the project “STEP TO TOMORROW. DIGITAL SKILLS FOR DENTAL ASSISTANTS” (2021-2-EE01-KA210-VET-000051265), so that more RSU RCMC students can gain new knowledge, share their experience and learn from experts and colleagues from the neighbouring countries.
