Information about the online discussion ‘Polytrauma patient treatment: Latvia and Israel’:
The discussion will begin with a short film about politrauma patient treatment. After that the experts from both countries will discuss the content of the film:, and talk about the differences between polytrauma patient treatment in Latvia and Israel and answer audience’s questions. The main aim of the event is to exchange the experience in regards to modern methods applied when treating politrauma patients.

Dr. Ivans Krupeņko: M.D. Certified Orthopaedic-trauma surgeon at Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital “Gaiļezers” – Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital Orthopaedic-trauma department, Polytrauma unit. Riga Stradiņš University Orthopaedic department lecturer. AIWA Clinic Orthopaedic trauma surgeon. Works with admitted patients in ER who have severe trauma after traffic accidents, falls from a height, blast injury, gunshot wounds and disasters. Leads the training of medics and paramedics in Red Cross Medical College RSU – the traumatology programm.
Dr. Igors Ivanovs: Associated professor at University of Latvia, chief surgeon in Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital in department of General and Emergency surgery. Surgical experience – 20 years.
Dr. Vjačeslavs Gorovenko: Anaesthetist and Intensive care specialist. Special interest in EM pre-hospital stage and regional anaesthesia. Six years working
experience in the UK at different levels including 2 years Consultant post in Manchester. Workplace: Trauma and Orthopaedic Hospital. Riga Emergency Medicine Service (Consultant).
