"Latvia is one small country in the north of Europe that gives a lot of opportunities to students. It is also one of the few countries that offer practice in pediatric hospitals for students. This is the main reason why I chose RCMC for my practice and I was not wrong. The hospital is the biggest pediatric hospital in Latvia and has various departments where students can chose from. I was lucky to work in 3 of them during my short term practice there(ICU for new borns, infections department and ENT). I had the opportunity to get familiar with many different techniques in each department and work with interesting cases every day. The most rewarding moments in the practice were when my patients or their family were talking in english with me and they could express their concerns, make small talk and thank me for my service. I would strongly recommend this hospital for other students just make sure there are some nurses talking in english at the department you choose, otherwise communication will make your life more difficult. It is a very good teaching hospital and nurses are always willing to help you improve in their own way!!"
