At the end of October 2023, RSU RCMC carried out the second part of 2022 BIP - "Digital Health 2.0"
On November 27th, after 4 weeks of preparatory online lectures, BIP participants met in Riga to work together on solutions to digital health challenges.
On the first day, students from RSU Red Cross Medical College, Kalisz University (Uniwersytet Kaliski, Poland), Kaunas HEI (Kauno kolegija, Lithuania), Vilnius HEI (Vilniaus kolegija, Lithuania) and Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (Finland) participated in various activities to get to know each other better, as well as learn more about the universities and countries that the students represented.
In the following days, lectures on various aspects of digital health were given by the founder and manager of Vigo Health - Kristaps Krafte, co-founder of the Digital Health Society Santa Zaļjalova, college lecturer Dipl. Pharm Renāte Teterovska and RSU lecturer Ieva Bikava.
Students also visited the RSU Anatomy Museum, the Emergency Medical Service and the RSU Medical Education Technology Center.
Along these activities, students in their groups, under the supervision of Sanita Litina and Asnate Kivle, worked on the selected digital health solutions, which were presented on the closing day. In the presentations, prototypes developed by students were presented, on how to use the possibilities of digital technologies to help patients find the necessary health care specialist more conveniently and quickly, how to provide support to patients of different groups, as well as to monitor the daily health status of elderly patients.
