This March College’s International cooperation specialist Anna Darafeja and Deputy director for development issues Linda Venskus participated in the Open World program organized by the American Councils for International Education. Together with other members of the delegation from Latvia, our College representatives attended leadership lectures in Washington and then spent a week in Detroit, Michigan, where they visited several governmental and non-governmental organizations focused on diversity and inclusion.
During the event, the Latvian delegation had the opportunity to develop their knowledge of social problems in the USA and get acquainted with the methods of solving them in various sectors - public, educational, labor market, etc. The group participated in discussions and shared experiences in order to promote inclusion measures at the international, national and organizational levels, as well as adopt better practices to prevent discrimination.
